DESCRIPTION/JOB SUMMARY

HGL (HYDROGEOLOGIC, INC.) is a full-service environmental science, engineering, and construction firm with over 30 years of experience providing environmental restoration solutions to federal, state, local, and private sector clients. Currently, HGL has a position open for an Accounts Payable Specialist.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

The job duties include but are not limited to:

* Review invoices for proper approval, coding, and past due balance research,
* Prepare and post vouchers in Costpoint accounting system,
* Process weekly check run after approval and review for accuracy,
* Process and pay sales and use tax,
* Ensure timely processing of payables and meet deadlines,
* Maintain Accounts Payable files and documentation,
* Provide customer service to all departments within HGL and respond to vendors,
* Run required A/P reports,
* Set up new vendors and ensure accurate 1099 information is received,
* Open, stamp, and distribute accounting department mail for approvals,
* Review and reconcile employee expense reports in accordance with government standards,
* Assist with year end 1099 preparation,
* Review and log general requisitions,
* Process and post cash receipts, and
* Process fixed assets on monthly basis.

REQUIRED SKILLS

The following skills are required for this position:

* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Computer literacy - knowledge of an integrated computerized accounting system, including electronic time sheets and expense reports
* Computer proficiency with Access, Excel, MS Word and Outlook
* Accurate data entry skills
* Organized and detail oriented.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

PREFERRED SKILLS
Deltek Costpoint experience is a plus.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

2-6 years of experience

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Federal contractor AP experience is a plus.
REQUIRED EDUCATION

This position requires a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.

PREFERRED EDUCATION
Associates or Bachelors degree is preferred.
DETAILS
A pre-hire drug test and COVID vaccination are required. U.S. Citizenship may be required for some positions.
