Job description

Custodian Lead Supervisor - RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:
Under close supervision, performs basic, non-technical tasks to maintain structures and grounds common to Operations & Maintenance (O&M) contract facility sites and structures.

Leads a team of custodians in the cleaning and maintaining of offices, public spaces, conference rooms, cafeteria areas, classrooms, labs and assigned areas for contract sites; insuring work is being performed in a safe, sanitary and orderly manner.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES:

• Provides work leadership to hourly employees in completion of their job duties in areas of responsibility.
• Performs a variety of cleaning tasks including but not limited to: dusting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, trash collection and removal, and restroom and break area cleaning, carpet shampooing stripping waxing and buffing floors and stairwells
• Report all employee issues (safety, injuries, and disciplinary).
• Implements corrective action plans to address inefficiencies and quality discrepancies.
• Trains assigned personnel on cleaning methods, procedures and equipment. Performs routine inspections of work performed.
• Adheres to all established systems and training programs to provide a safe working environment.
• Complies with all OSHA regulations and other local, state, and federal government regulations.
• Operates a variety of cleaning equipment, which may include heavy floor waxing machines, strippers, buffers, carpet shampooers, or forklifts.
• Mixes cleaning chemicals / compounds according to recommended manufacturer's instructions.
• Utilizes the proper chemicals and methods to clean up various spills, graffiti and stains.
• Cleans and sanitizes water fountains, floors, walls, windows, doors, blinds, bathroom fixtures, etc.
• Maintains inventory of supplies needed to perform custodial work. Stocks and requisitions required supplies such as paper products, soap dispensers, etc.
• May be required to follow clean room techniques and regulations.
• Complies with all company policies and procedures and adhere to company standards.
• Performs and reviews all work and assures all personnel perform work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Performs other job-related duties as requested.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to read labels, directions, etc.
• Must be able to communicate effectively for scheduling and training.
• One or more years of general cleaning experience with a working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment.
• Must be able to operate heavy cleaning equipment.
• Ability to work second or third shift, holidays, and weekends as required.
• Must be a team player, committed to working in a quality environment.
