Job description

Virginia Farm Bureau has an opening for an energetic, experienced, and passionate Human Resources professional in our pristine West Creek Corporate office. We have a top-notch HR team that is rewarded for good work and valued for making significant contributions.

This role utilizes previous experience and serves as a business partner to specific business units throughout the company. The role encompasses a blend of HR responsibilities to include recruiting, coaching, employee relations, salary surveys, performance review management and other projects that assist in enhancing, developing and supporting initiatives. This candidate may be involved with diversity and inclusion programs and college recruiting.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • The primary focus will be on recruiting new employees for all level positions within the corporate structure through various channels such as, college recruiting, external career sites, trade journals, referral programs, etc.
  • Handle employee relation situations including performance, EEOC, discrimination and harassment cases.
  • Work closely with managers and employees on building and cultivating successful teams.
  • Review compensation structure and conduct salary surveys to ensure VAFB positions are in line with the market.
  • Conduct personal development and performance training workshops/CBTs for employees.
  • Help support an environment of diversity and inclusion through education and awareness programs.
  • Work closely with the Senior Vice President of Human Resources to create innovative recruitment and retention practices & policies.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Thorough and detailed decision-making skills to proactively find the best method for resolution, incorporating company policy and HR guidelines.
  • Emotional Intelligence is needed for this role.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree a plus
  • Minimum 3+ years Human Resources experience in a generalist role with a track-record of success.
  • Working knowledge in the areas of employment law, recruitment practices and basic benefits.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
  • A true passion for recruiting and supporting others.
  • Must demonstrate traits that build an environment of confidentiality and trust.
