Responsibilities:

The Benefits Administrator/HR Generalist position is responsible for directing and planning the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs, onboarding of talent, conducting audits and analysis, and drafting policies and process documents. This role provides a chance for you to build your professional career with an organization that has an aggressive growth strategy. You will have the ability to help shape the benefit offerings for our employees and provide them the highest level of customer service from when they start with Technica through their tenure with the company. This position will not only be the welcoming face of the company to our new hires, but will continually investigate new benefit programs and recommend ways to improve existing ones, as we design a strong employee value proposition. Additionally, the person will lead the administration components of the employee lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Survey industry trends, research employee benefit plans and vendors and conduct analysis to identify programs that will present the best value to our employees and the company.
  • Develop communication plans to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package; draft communications on plan documents, plan changes, presentations, employee communication and notices.
  • Manage daily benefits processing to include handling enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, QDROs, QMCSOs, distributions, loans, hardships and compliance testing.
  • Lead the annual benefits utilization and cost analysis for building the following years benefits business case.
  • Manage the annual benefits open enrollment program.
  • Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators; coordinate the transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration.
  • Partner with the HRIS/HRBP/finance/payroll team as appropriate on administration of benefit programs.
  • Manage the onboarding, offboarding and other HR transactions for all employees in ADP.
  • Compile, update, maintain and audit employee records, I-9 verification and other employment compliance regulations.
  • Manage the HR email box and handle employee requests, questions and issues that are sent in.
  • Provide excellent customer service support to employees and all levels of leadership.
  • Own the invoicing and reconciliation process for all benefits and wellness invoices.
  • Run and analyze various HR related reports for HR, management and governmental compliance.
  • Create process documents for areas of responsibility, and identify and implement process improvements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent education and experience.
  • 2-3 years of related experience.
  • Prior experience with HRIS systems, preferably ADP.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills.
  • Prior experience proactively identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office especially MS Excel with the ability to analyze large amounts of data.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with FMLA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA and other federal and state laws that impact benefits administration.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking.
  • Prior experience working with and controlling highly confidential and sensitive information and data; proven trustworthiness.
Desired:
  • Prior experience working with iCIMS and Unanet.
  • Experience evaluating and making recommendations on benefit plan offerings.
  • Knowledge of benefits contract language.
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Medicare, OBRA, Social Security and DOL requirements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Takes initiative in resolving matters in a timely fashion and developing solutions to address current or future challenges.
  • Prior customer service experience.
  • PHR Certification or equivalent.
