MyEyeDr is looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join a team that is encountering significant expansion in a fast-growing organization. The Assistant Controller will be an essential leader on the finance and accounting team responsible for the following functions: internal general ledger reporting and reconciliations in accordance with US GAAP, month-end close, supply chain and inventory accounting, fixed assets and lease accounting, property and sales and use tax, integration of new acquisitions and external financial statement audit.

This role will provide leadership and vision for scaling the accounting team and financial infrastructure to support the growth and execution of the Company's business strategy and support of field operations through effective internal controls. The Assistant Controller will be an active mentor and coach to develop members of the accounting team. As part of the MyEyeDr Accounting and Finance Leadership Team, the Assistant Controller will work with all departments to provide data and insights to help other leaders in the Company make effective decisions.

This position reports to the Vice President, Controller, who reports directly to the CFO. the Controller is currently responsible for 30+ individuals, including 5 direct reports in the following functions: General Ledger Accounting (including inventory, fixed assets, tax and integrations), Financial Reporting (including technical accounting, debt, equity and acquisition accounting, as well as Risk Management), Accounts Payable and Payroll, Treasury and Sales Audit (including revenue and Accounts Receivable)).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure timeliness of the month end close process and completeness and accuracy of accounting records in accordance with US GAAP
  • Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statements for month end close
  • Provide guidance to the fixed asset, inventory and tax teams to ensure accurate and timely accounting in accordance with US GAAP •

Work Experience

  • 5+ years of Big 4 public accounting experience
  • 8+ years of various positions and levels of management within accounting
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience in retail or optical industry
  • Experience with Oracle or comparable large ERP software system (e.g., SAP)


Education
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Accounting, MBA plus
