Job description

Sol Systems is seeking a full-time Business Development Analyst to support sales and development efforts for Sol's Strategic Solutions Hub, which promotes and develops tailored "Infrastructure + Impact" solutions, creating value through renewable energy with enhanced environmental and community impact.

Sol Systems designs and delivers comprehensive procurement and investment solutions for businesses, municipalities and institutional investors to achieve sustainability goals and community impact. Sol Systems was founded in 2008 and has grown into a national leading integrated platform that includes infrastructure assets, commodity and financial services, customer service and asset management. Sol has over 1 GW of solar projects with a national footprint and a diverse customer, investor, and partner base.

The scope of the position will include pre-sales activities for Sol's unique "Infrastructure + Impact" solutions and sales support to the Strategic Solutions team in their effort to identify, target, market to and secure customers with a focus on Fortune 500 companies. In addition, the role will help facilitate and strengthen Sol's community impact partnerships and engagement, as well as environmental, social and governance (ESG) impact reporting. The role will require a unique combination of business development capability, analytical skills, understanding of solar market and corporate ESG trends, teamwork and a desire to have impact.

Key Responsibilities:

* Perform market research to identify potential clients as well as relevant industry and ESG trends
* Qualify prospects and opportunities
* Create client presentations, engage with prospects, and support other sales activities
* Liaise and work with Sol's cross-functional teams to help develop client proposals
* Support funnel management and prepare sales reports using Salesforce.com, Smartsheet, PowerBI, etc.
* Support outreach and marketing to corporate and institutional target groups
* Help identify, engage with and strengthen Sol's relationships with community impact organizations
* Support community engagement activities
* Provide support for ESG data tracking and reporting

A successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

* 1+ year of experience in business development and sales
* Strong analytical skills
* Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
* Self-motivated with the ability to manage diverse relationships and multiple complex projects simultaneously
* Creativity and critical thinking skills to tackle a variety of challenges from industry level to client-specific, with attention to detail and a commitment to excellence
* Strong experience with preparing client presentations with Microsoft PowerPoint, and completing business related proposals
* Experience with Salesforce.com and the ability to understand and create Microsoft Excel models
* Bachelor's degree required

Location & Hours: This is a full-time role and will be based in our Washington, DC office.
