Job description
Fortis Digital Ventures is a blockchain / crypto focused affiliate of Fortis Financial Group. Fortis is an SEC registered investment advisory firm specializing in wealth management and investment services for technology professionals and successful families.
We believe the revolution of the blockchain ecosystem is similar to the development and expansion of the internet in the '90s. It is going to revolutionize how business is conducted (especially finance) and will continue to see adoption soar over the next five years. We believe we are in the very early stages of the S-curve of technology adoption and the most useful cases for the future of blockchain have not even been conceptualized yet.
We are seeking an experienced sales / business development professional who believes in this new nascent technology and is able to use his or her existing network to bring new investors into our blockchain investment fund to give them exposure to this rapidly growing space.
Job Description
In this position you will be responsible for building relationships with new prospective clients for our digital asset / crypto fund. You will work closely with our investment team to gain an understanding of the space and the investment thesis in order to refine your sales pitch. Then you will go out to your existing network and begin trying to bring in new investors that want access to a portfolio of early stage blockchain companies we believe will have significant future utility.
Target Audience: High net worth individuals and families that are accredited and qualified
Minimum Investment: $250K
Goals: $15+ million in new assets raised per year
You will get to be a part of building out the marketing materials you will use, with input from our investment team and our compliance team. We are experienced in multi-channel marketing through online marketing as well as in-person and can work closely with you to build whitepapers, value-add reports and other content for use in ongoing drip campaigns and lead-ins with new prospects.
In conjunction with utilizing your existing network, you will be responsible for researching new prospects to develop a healthy pipeline and implement strategies to book meetings with these prospects and tell them about the fund and investment strategy.
Responsibilities
- Learn the ins and outs of how the fund works and its investment strategy
- Build marketing materials to use in sales presentations
- Reach out to current network to facilitate interest in investing in the fund
- Work with team to develop additional content to use for ongoing prospect follow-up and capture
- Research new prospects, make calls and set 3-5 meetings per week to present the fund as an investment
Qualifications
- High level of integrity and strong interpersonal and networking skills
- Strong interest in crypto and blockchain technology and how it will change the world
- Must have an established domestic network of investors that are accredited and qualified (over $2.2M of net worth excluding primary residence)
- Must have a strong background in sales with mature network
- Ability to pass the series 65 exam (or equivalent exams such as Series 7 and 63) if license is not already possessed
- Experience working in investments, private equity, venture capital, real estate, financial advising, banking, insurance or fundraising preferred
- Experience using Salesforce is preferred
- Effective communication skills in order to communicate closely with investment team about sales pitch strategy
- Ability to take technically complex topics and communicate them in analogies, metaphors and easy to understand concepts
- Proven track record demonstrating ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly
- Ability to connect with co-workers and build positive relationships with team members is a must.
