Job description
Kelly Services has DIRECT HIRE opening for HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST for beverage manufacturer in Bothell, WA.
PAY: $70K
HOURS: 6am-3pm or 7am-4pm M-F
The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for managing human resources strategies and initiatives, including employee relations; payroll, benefits, and leaves; safety program; training and development; and recruitments and onboarding. Position assists in making and interpreting company policies and handbook, interpreting and applying applicable state and federal laws, and ensuring HR processes, programs, policies and management practices are in alignment with and support the overall organizational objectives.
JOB DUTIES:
- Administer handbook and interpret and explain policies, procedures and regulations.
- Manage administrative functions within human resources, including payroll and retirement benefits for employees.
- Manage employee leave and ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state laws.
- Manage health and safety programs.
- Manage training process for employees.
- Coordinate with the SQF Practitioner to ensure compliance to, and enforcement of all company policies and procedures concerning GMP's, food and employee safety and all appropriate pre-requisite programs.
- Develop and implement SOP's and SSOP's relevant to the area of responsibility.
- Manage the recruitment and onboarding strategies including: working with hiring managers; advertising and posting positions; applicant screening and interviewing; conducting background checks and job offers; and conducting onboarding for all new hires.
- Maintain an understanding of HR issues and needs through participation in meetings such as: safety, department meetings, quality meetings, and professional organizations, legislation, and industry trends.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Manage and coordinate a variety of human resource-related projects and/or programs.
- Interpret and explain policies and procedures, and applicable Federal, State, and local laws as they apply to the human resources management function.
- Maintain confidential and sensitive information.
- Gain cooperation through discussion and persuasion.
- Identify, research, and analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, and project consequences of proposed actions.
- Gather, evaluate, and interpret information.
- Effectively organize, plan, and execute.
- Use computers and computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of HR experience in human resources.
- Food manufacturing/GMP experience is preferred.
- Progressively experience managing recruitment and employment is preferred.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP a plus.
