Position Summary
Sony has been developing Image sensors for various markets, and now we are one of the industry leading sensing device providers. We aim at transforming sensors into direct values for customers by edge-based intelligence, and that is what Product Management is all about.
Sony Electronics in the Seattle, WA area is seeking to welcome the best and the brightest into our world-class business development team. We are encouraging a new team member to work closely with our partners as we create and develop new ideas and solutions.
Our plan is to build an edge vision platform service that will be integrated into the customers' solution products to bring inspiring, intelligent, and reassuring solutions for the society, industry and human lives. This position is tasked to work cross-functionally worldwide to guide products from ideation to launch by connecting the customer's needs and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Plan and launch new products and features, test their performance, and iterate quickly.
- Understand markets, competition, and user requirements in depth to define the appropriate specifications/features.
- Lead and work collaboratively with engineering, marketing and other teams to guide the products toward launch, taking into consideration Sony' strategy and objectives.
- Develop solutions to problems by collaborating as needed across regions, product areas, and functions.
- Identify and lead exploratory discussions with potential partners across industries
- Evaluate and quantify opportunities and present recommendations to internal leaders
Requirements
Minimum:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years of work experience in product management, business development in SW service industry or similar environment
- Experience negotiating and structuring agreements/strategic partnership agreements
- Experience driving product vision, go-to-market strategy, and design discussions.
- Experience developing vision-based products and/or technologies.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in a technology or business related field.
- Experience managing day-to-day technical and design direction.
- Experience effectively working with multiple functional areas such as business development, engineering, sales, R&D or marketing.
- Experience in creating strategic product roadmaps.
- Experience in cloud-based services or large scale software development
- Experience in neural network development
- Experience in electrical / mechanical design
- Excellent communication skills to articulate technical and business points, to influence relevant stakeholders.
