Description If you're looking to take your career into the Investment Advisory industry, there is a terrific permanent position available for an experienced Staff Accountant at Robert Half. The Staff Accountant will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. Throughout the monthly close, you will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting. Lend your skills towards developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This intricate position is involved in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This company, based in the Camas, Washington area, offers a challenging and multi-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded.

Key responsibilities

- Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable

- Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

- Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting

- Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

- Partake in various department-wide initiatives

- Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

- Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries

- Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

- In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

- Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

- Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision

- Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested

- Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation Requirements - Knowledgeable of ERP systems

- Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

- Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

- Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

- Spreadsheet and database capabilities

- Foundational knowledge in Financial Statement Audits

- Comprehensive knowledge of Analyze Financial Statements

- Command of Audited Financial Statements

- Proficiency in Financial Statement

- Experience with financial statement preparation

- Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

- Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

- 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

- Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions

- Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
