Job Description:
Rapidly growing company in Everett, WA is seeking a Logistics Tariff Specialist who will help optimize logistics for the company as a whole, from relationship inception and negotiation all the way through to execution or relationship termination. This job is unique because the Supply Chain Analyst will help integrate acquired supply chains and exercise creative problem solving.
Responsibilities:
- Identify best freight and logistics solution for multi-site operation including inbound and outbound freight
- Negotiate logistics contracts with providers. Determine best terms, and pricing structures for imports, exports and within US shipping
- Determine and maintain Harmonized Tariff System Codes and tariff schedules for all items being imported into the U.S
- Determine and maintain Country Of Origin for all procured items
- Conceptualize and implement an optimized tariff risk mitigation and avoidance process
- Ensure processes are in place to execute in-bond transfers of product into Mexico and declare the correct value to US customs, including related-party transactions to customs broker(s)
- Lead efforts to reduce transportation cost for the business and assist in driving out cost by process improvement
- Track shipments and drive on time deliveries via use of daily tracking and communicate to Customer Focused Teams
- Ensure suppliers and freight forwarders have the properly completed compliance data needed to create the export documentation
- Ensure compliance with the regulations for all duty drawback program assist finance in drawing back duties where applicable
- Create and maintain monthly metrics on freight costs, customs duties, duties avoided and duties collected from customers
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or field related to supply chain
- 5 years' work experience in logistics and import/export compliance
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Manufacturing environment experience required or preferred
- Strong working knowledge in MS Office Suite (Advanced Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc)
- Strong customer service focus
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills (including the ability to write reports, business correspondence, policies and procedure manuals - if applicable)
- Strong teaming skills
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Be flexible, adaptable, able and willing to modify activities and direction with an ever-changing business environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and work ethic
- Possess a professional attitude and promote the same in others
