Position Overview


The Indirect Lending Assistant Manager provides oversite and leadership for the indirect loan processing operations team, in addition to providing a full range of support and service to our dealer partners, including funding exceptions, underwriting decisions, and support for the Indirect Relationship Officer. Being a key support to the strategic loan growth for STCU, this position ensures that the department is operating at a highly efficient level while maintaining audit and compliance requirements in conjunction with the Indirect Lending Manager.


Core Job Requirements/Outcomes


  • Lead the department's funding production and service level goals in cooperation with the Indirect Lending Manager by providing coaching, employee development, monthly production reports, creating new efficiencies, and assisting in designing workforce management plans to support those objectives.
  • Assist in managing, maintaining, and increasing the Indirect Loan portfolio production and profitability by managing the dealer portfolio, risk management, profitability management, loan growth production, and program expansion plans.
  • Ensure adherence to STCU's audit policies and Indirect Lending program policies by performing monthly, quarterly, and annual branch audits and department certifications.
  • Support the Consumer Loan Underwriters and Indirect Relationship Officer by reviewing loans within risk tolerance to support portfolio growth, strong dealer relationships, and profitability. Decision consumer indirect loans according to assigned lending authority and credit union risk appetite.


Qualifications

Education Associates Degree or equivalent is preferred.


Job Experience Minimum of three years' experience in consumer lending, loan processing and underwriting. Strong analytical skills and ability to structure potential loan commitments. Minimum one-year leadership experience including delegating, facilitating change, mentoring, problem solving, coaching and counseling staff; or formal leadership training preferred.


Software Skills Proficient knowledge of MS Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.


Other Skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills required in order to maintain positive working relationships and to effectively collaborate with diverse work groups.


Physical Demands Must be able to regularly talk, hear and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift, pull/push and carry up to 10 pounds with accommodations.

Work Conditions Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting. Exposure to high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.


Travel Demands Minimal travel within STCU footprint may be required. Travel may be required to maintain training, compliance, certification visit dealerships, or participate in dealer related events.


Other Perform additional duties as assigned for the efficient operation of the department and the organization. This includes the possibility of being assigned temporarily to other locations.
