Part of a nation wide family of Continuing Care Retirement Communities: is seeking a Human Resources Assistant/Recruiter. This position is responsible for the clerical support of many aspects of the human resource function of the campus. This includes assisting in the application of various human resources procedure and practices of the campus, maintenance of human resource documentation and employee personnel files, adherence to corporate pay administration program as well as corporate policies and procedures, employee benefits, management of the workers' compensation claims, and application of federal and state law and regulation. This position assists in the recruitment and retention of support and line-staff, new employee orientation, employee communication and recognition, employee relations, aspect of training, and the maintenance of the timekeeping system and HRIS. This position also sources, recruits and onboards new employees in all areas of the business.

In this role, the Human Resources Assistant will:

  • Assist in the compliance of state and federal employment regulations as well as corporate and campus HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the implementation of recruiting strategies that result in a dependable and timely flow of candidates to the campus.
  • Source, recruit and onboard candidates. Screen applicant calls and provide routine information; maintain all employee application records. Send out or conduct authorized reference checks, process and receive criminal background screening results, and physical and drug test results.
  • Assist in employee orientation and the communication of employee benefits. Respond to routine questions and inquiries. Support employees in the Life Event enrollment and change process.
  • Maintain data in the computerized human resource information system (HRIS) and timekeeping system. Enter new employee data and some routine data/changes as needed. Assist in the orientation of new managers/supervisors to the system and direct them to the e-training.
  • Confidentially prepare and maintain all employee records and files. Maintain complete, orderly and timely employee records and files, including monitoring and replacing expired documents.
  • Assist with the workers' compensation program adhering to the CL Risk Management Program. Maintain employee incident and safety reports in cooperation with department heads, as required by the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), other workers' compensation agencies and the central office. As requested, assist in the investigation of the incident/injury and support the prevention strategies developed by the safety committee.
  • Attend in-services as required by state and federal laws and regulations. Maintain awareness and knowledge of human resources' best practices and trends.
  • Prepare new hire packets, orientation materials, benefit packets and other employee communications for distribution.
  • Support the HRD by performing various administrative duties including, but not limited to, typing memos and correspondence, answering incoming calls, ordering supplies, and copying and faxing documents.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Associate degree. Bachelors degree preferred.
  • 2 years in the area of human resources administration required.
  • HRIS experience, Workday strongly preferred.
  • Payroll experience a plus.
  • Experience in recruitment coordination and onboarding of new employees.
  • Continuing education in human resource related topics.
  • General and routine knowledge of human resource practices, employment laws and regulations and their implementation.
  • Highly experienced in Word/data processing and computer skills
  • System knowledge in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
