About the role
As Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for the execution and success of multiple programs that are critical to the SRE organization's strategy as we work to build the systems and infrastructure that power "Zillow 2.0." Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Guide technical architecture discussions/decisions.
- Develop detailed technical project plans and complete the plan until completion.
- Assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, balance business needs versus technical constraints and encourage risk-taking behavior to improve business benefit
- Document and maintain standard/efficient processes, automating as much as possible.
- Be accountable, through working with cross-functional project teams, for implementing and delivering on OKRs and timelines while focusing on company objectives
- Maintain and report on project statuses, identify risks and gaps, and seek opportunities to optimize timely delivery of projects
- Maintain and publish a variety of other SRE metrics
- Collaborate with teams from across the company on ZG-wide programs
- Influence, lead, and drive issues to resolution
- Collaborate with external & internal stakeholders (Product, ProdOps, CloudArc, etc) to capture business requirements and define objectives
This role has been categorized as a Remote position. "Remote" employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.
In Colorado, the standard pay range for this role is $138,600.00 - $221,400.00 Annually. This range is specific to Colorado and may not be applicable to other locations.
Who you are
- 8+ years of Technical Program Management experience with related technologies, including leading significant cross-functional projects in mid-size or large companies
- 4+ years of hands-on experience building software solutions within current industry standard technologies
- A first-hand solid understanding of current web development technologies and service-oriented architecture
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope technical requirements, and prioritize tasks
- Strong business and technical vision (and the ability to communicate that vision clearly)
- Ability to balance multiple contending priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A deep understanding of software development in a team, and a track record of shipping software on time
Preferred:
- PMP or Project Management Certification
- Familiarity with building large scale solutions across many integrated and distributed systems, with great availability, performance, and security
