Summary of Duties:

Washington State University is recruiting for an HR Assistant. This position is based on the Pullman campus; however, hybrid work may be available at a future date.

Under general supervision, perform a variety of duties in support of Human Resource Services. Apply established human resource guidelines, rules, policies and procedures to classified, exempt and/or academic staff. Review, develop and maintain accurate records and correspondence. Assist clients, maintain electronic and paper files, produce reports, gather and organize documentation, and coordinate schedules. Maintain and ensure a confidential environment at all times.

Required Qualifications:

  • Three years of office experience including at least six months of experience in a human resource or related setting OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience providing customer service both in person and/or over the phone.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft office programs.
  • Excellent attention to details skills.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the human resource functions of training & development, benefits, recruitment, classification, compensation, employee/labor relations.
  • Experience providing clerical - administrative support to multiple individuals.
  • Experience presenting group orientations and/or trainings.
