Facebook Reality Lab's Wireless Technology Engineering for Devices (TED) group is looking for a antenna engineer intern to join our antenna team for AR/VR products.

This is an internship position based in Redmond, WA. Our internships are twelve (12) to sixteen (16) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.

  • Explore and research new and emerging antenna technologies for the development for AR/VR products
  • Design, simulation, prototype, and measurement of antennas
  • Work closely with other antenna engineers, ME, RF, EE engineers to find common-ground solutions to the problem


  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a PhD in electrical engineering (Focus on EM field and waves, Antenna theory, Wireless Design), or related field
  • Experience with EM simulation software, such as XFDTD, CST, HFSS and other tools such Matlab, ADS, and Optenni Lab
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment such VNA, anechoic chambers, SAR test equipment
  • Interpersonal skills: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
  • Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment


  • Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
  • Research publications in conferences or journals
  • Knowledge of antenna design concepts for electronic devices such as cellular devices, wearables, and other compact personal wireless devices
  • Good understanding of compliance requirements for personal devices
