Job Summary
The Director of Human Resources will influence at the most senior levels of the organization to build and implement strategies that support Compass Group's cultural development. This position will oversee all aspects of HR management, practices and operations to meet the needs of our growing and evolving organization. The role will build upon current people programs and service delivery strategies, enhance organizational decision-making and talent strategy to secure growth with preserving core culture.
The Director of Human Resources will be a critical executive partner, facilitating strategic initiatives and planning, organizational design, and change management while leading a talented group of HR professionals. This role is also the primary HR Business Partner for the Vice Presidents of Operations of Dining, Eventions, and Technology and will provide support and thought leadership, to drive cross-lines of business projects
Essential Accountabilities:
Culture + People Development
- Provide thought leadership around facilitating and sustaining a culture that fosters, Openness, Caring and Growth at all levels of the organization
- Provide strategic direction on building culture that facilitates an environment that enables the best possible way of working
- Align building the culture with strategic business initiatives
- Identifying and deploy strategies that address changes large and small, to develop the capacity of the organization
- In partnership with the Compass Group Talent Acquisition (CGTA) team, the HR Director enables the business to attract, retain and develop world changing talent to achieve business results today and in the future
- Lead end-to-end talent management processes and practices to identify and respond to gaps in building forward-looking talent capabilities all-up
- Acquire, develop, retain and reward diverse and pivotal talent, in partnership with business leaders
- Partner with CGTA on an end-to-end talent acquisition strategy to address current and future business needs
- Connect externally with networks & communities to bring in world class talent and practices
- Partner with and enable leaders to develop high-functioning orgs to achieve business goals and build culture
- Develop holistic org and people plans for individual leadership teams in support of Compass Group people priorities and HR strategies
- Leverage business acumen, competitive insights, external benchmarking, data, and best-in-class Organizational Design resources to inform decisions on org structures, processes, communication, and similar levers
- Utilizes Systems Thinking to effectively diagnose the problems / opportunities and considering the solution as part of a larger network of complex interactions (i.e. seeing the solution from a range of perspectives)
- Design and implement well-thought through change plans that account for durable effect
- Identify, develop and align leaders that can shift culture and drive business transformation and impact
- Partner with leaders to diagnose, coach and provide solutions to enable our leaders and leadership teams to collaborate and continuously transform themselves and their teams/org to deliver business results
- Take accountability for ensuring capable leaders with the right skills are in the right roles
- Partner with leaders to build inclusive environments within their organizations
- Coach and develop executives and other leadership through relationships and influence
- Provide leadership and support to the onsite HR Team to drive service excellence to their business partnerships
- Coach and develop high performing HR team that works closely with all levels of employees
- Lead long-range strategic planning to anticipate innovative change initiatives that improve people productivity, cost and institute effectiveness
- Coach direct reports to lead innovative change initiatives to support this effort
Qualifications:
- Education Level Required: BS/BA degree is required; MBA or MA in HR-related field is preferred
- SPHR/SHRM-SCP credential preferred
- Years of Experience: a min of 8-10 years of directly applicable HR experience is required, and experience leading teams is preferred
- Experience in a high-tech fast growth organization is a plus
- Ability to travel occasionally
