We are looking for a highly motivated and technically competent AMER Energy and Sustainability Lead to provide direction for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of all sustainability activities within our client's real estate portfolio.
The successful candidate will support the account director to establish strong partnerships with the client, develop key relationships across both the JLL and client teams and draw upon specific expertise from across the JLL Energy & Sustainability centers of excellence.
Working in partnership with the client's leadership, the role will include the support to meet operational environmental goals related to greenhouse gas emissions, renewable energy, energy usage, water usage, waste reduction/diversion, climate risk management, and the development of an extensive Net Zero carbon strategy, which will in-turn influence the processes and solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
* Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of all sustainability activities across the client real estate portfolio
* Contribute to the client corporate sustainability strategy and drive the delivery of key objectives
* Providing strategic direction and guidance on ways to enhance and expand service delivery to the client's leadership, including leveraging supply chain partners, internal collaborations and the broader Energy and Sustainability Services team
* Develop and implement a multi-faceted global energy & sustainability management strategy
* Establish strong working relationships with global and regional leads to deliver local targets as well as overarching global target.
* Collaborating effectively with other JLL service lines on the account (Real Estate, Finance, Projects, FM and procurement) to deliver an integrated energy and sustainability solution to the client
* Delivering and overseeing other sustainability initiatives, including operational improvements to reduce carbon emissions, resource circularity and sustainable design standards for all projects
* Effectively tracking and communicating success stories to ensure a high level of awareness and engagement is achieved with regard to the overall energy and sustainability program
* Demonstrating innovative thinking and proactive management in bringing new ideas and solutions to the client, and ensuring they are rolled out effectively
* Develop and enhance systems and processes for delivering best practice sustainability performance and use of utility/sustainability management systems for monitoring and/or reporting purposes
* Act as the subject matter expert to educate and guide key stakeholders on energy and sustainability topics and requests

Requirements - Essential
* University Degree (Science, engineering, math, or related fields)
* Understanding of energy and sustainability initiatives
* A strategic thinker with capability and experience to work with a wide range of stakeholders in multiple geographies and cultures.
* Ability to conduct critical conversation at the client's leadership level.
* Experience in developing and enhancing systems and processes for delivering best practice sustainability performance and use of utility/sustainability management systems for monitoring and/or reporting purposes
* Strong ability to analyze corporate portfolio by benchmarking and reviewing utility data to drive sustainability measures
* Robust experience reviewing and refining technical and commercial aspects of sustainability upgrades such as working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, building automation systems
* Familiarity with energy procurement process and renewable energy options
* Ability to plan and prioritize deadlines and think strategically to identify innovative solutions
* Strong problem-solving skills and experience developing sustainability solutions
* Ability to communicate difficult concepts and negotiate with others to adopt a different point of view
* Ability to lead teams of energy & sustainability professionals
Requirements - Desirable
* Knowledge and appreciation of energy markets and energy procurement globally
* Ability to travel globally
* Strong project management skills and an ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a high pressure, deadline driven environment
* Experience in the preparation of tenders and work orders and the ability to select appropriate equipment and service vendors
