PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leading business development for a $150-$250 million general contractor
- Building a multi-state, multi-market business development and marketing strategy and implementation plan for a mid-sized general contractor.
- Assisting in opening new markets and regions
- Selling construction projects to community association, developer, senior living or affordable housing organizations.
- Working with others in landing multi-million dollar projects.
- Guiding the preparation of winning construction proposals.
- Managing, inspiring, motivating and leading a small but nimble in-house BD and Marketing team
- Managing senior level key customer relationships and closing strategic opportunities.
- Motivating Project Managers to supplement the BD process and to develop productive relationships.
- Ensuring that key relationships are "owned" by multiple people.
- Utilizing a CRM to manage team sales tasks, pipeline, and marketing data.
- Hiring and integrating business development and marketing staff.
- Generating buy-in with colleagues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or demonstrated successful experience
- 10 years of successful business development and 5 years of marketing experience for a growing, $150 million to $250 million general contractor.
- Strong inspirational leadership and management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional long and short-term relationship development skills.
- Persuasive; solid written and oral communication skills.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Strong business acumen.
- Effective time management skills.
- Solid ability to move between big picture and details.
- Proven ability to manage budgets.
- Professional and proactive work ethic.
- Ability to understand and embrace emerging marketing techniques.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook and CRM systems.
