Summary of Position:

The Supply Chain Solutions group engages with customers in a variety of supply chain design and improvement studies, including network design, transport flow strategy development, deep analytics (descriptive through prescriptive), inventory analysis, and process improvement. This position is specific to the Living Model Service, a subscription-based offering featuring the Living Model, a persistent modeling environment used to create a digital twin of the logistics network that underlies the supply chain.

The Living Model Service team is a rich learning environment that will provide considerable intellectual stimulation, in a highly collaborative environment that will constantly challenge your creativity.

Scope of Position: Core mission of this role is to drive revenue growth in all solutions offerings within the Living Model, with deep penetration into the Supply Chain Design client base who have undertaken network modeling / optimization with our group in the past together with clients who have an interest in visualizing their supply chain's performance and trends. The Business Development Manager role within The Living Model team is accountable to drive revenue growth for all aspects of the Living Model business, namely monthly subscriptions and individual Projects. Achieves success by direct sales efforts and sales channel partnerships.

Qualifications

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

As Business Development Manager - reporting to the VP, Supply Chain Solutions you will:
  • Orchestrate relationships and a collaborative sales process using resources including but not limited to SCS Previous clients worldwide & wider Expeditors customers who have demonstrated a keen interest in advanced data analytics and supply chain modeling.
  • Establish credibility with organizations that maintain or have an interest in supply chain design management systems
  • Participate as an active member and knowledge leader in Supply Chain Design
  • Tailor the Living Model product services to the Customer's needs
  • Provide presentations and live demo's of the Living Model services.
  • Generate Commercial proposals and complete Contract signing.
  • Maintain an active target board of opportunities (Pipeline management)
  • Update CRM tool.
  • Participate in the creation of value-added solutions including supporting materials and cost-benefit / Return on Investment calculations
  • Execute marketing initiatives focusing on the unique needs of the Supply Chain Design market
  • Help create and maintain a Living Model website
  • Support the transition of new accounts through customer introductions, information transfer, and securing any necessary customer paperwork.
  • Support Accounts Receivable collection as an escalation point when needed
  • Provide market feedback to inform Living Model Product Development and Leadership on future enhancements to service and technology offerings.


Experience and Education:
  • Minimum BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years combined experience in sales, business development, or consulting services in the Supply Chain Design practices
  • Previous Customer experience
  • Proven track record of driving revenue and growth
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus, resolve conflict, and drive resolution of complex business challenges in a rapidly evolving environment
  • Must have both the sales skills and technical knowledge to make presentations and lead customer discussions to advance the sales process
  • Ability to develop relationships and work extensively at the executive level
  • The position requires domestic and international travel
