Business Development Manager
As a Business Development Manager in the Retail Partnerships team, you will be responsible for initiating and establishing strategic partnerships with critical affiliate partners in the Americas Region.
You will have full ownership of driving, developing, and acquiring new business for our growing portfolio of partnerships to reach the next level of growth for all Expedia Group Brands across North America. You'll drive meaningful impacts against our strategic priorities of infiltrating new customer segments and/or key segments. Examples of potential partners are major banks, transportation providers, employee networks, etc.
Retail Partnerships is a flexible and highly energetic marketing channel that manages over 5,000 partner relationships for all Expedia Group Brands globally. As a newly formed team, this is a phenomenal opportunity to be part of an exciting journey where you can help us capitalize on meaningful and innovative partnerships.
What you'll do:
- You will be responsible for influencing and executing our partnership strategy, including sourcing, pitching, and negotiating new strategic partners, as well as collaborating with other teams to execute business development initiatives
- This is a hugely entrepreneurial and strategic role that encompasses
- Identifying and prioritizing new partners who can meet Retail Partnerships and Expedia Group's objectives
- Developing partnership proposals including discovering objectives, defining partnership requirements, and developing value propositions
- Crafting and pitching a business case
- Working with Product Development, Data Engineering, and Operations functions to define partner/tool requirements; in parallel, identifying improvement opportunities and new use cases
- Negotiating commercial terms and driving contractual agreements in coordination with legal counsel; supported by the Director Retail Partnerships, Americas
- Working cross-functionally with internal teams to implement a partnership
Who you are:
- We are looking for a self-starter who has the energy, influence, and people skills to build and service strategic partnerships
- Experience in consultative sales, building partnerships, market, and business development
- Account management and business start-up including independently leading complex negotiations end-to-end
- Data-driven and results oriented
- Collaborator who does what is best for the organization not personal gain
- Experience and/or familiarity with affiliate marketing is preferred
- Excellent internal and external partner management and people skills
- Exceptional persuasion and influencing skills
- Dedicated, high-energy, creative, self-starter looking to have a significant impact on business success
- Strong business sense, problem-solving, and business case building
- Fluency in Spanish or French is a plus
- Ability to operate with flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving, and collaborative environment
- Work effectively cross-functionally with all levels of management, both internally and externally
