Job Description: Cell Culture Laboratory Associate

SEngine Precision Medicine is a precision oncology company revolutionizing cancer diagnostics with the CLIA certified PARIS Test that is already employed by oncologists to determine ex-vivo drug sensitivity of cancer cells from individual patients. The results of SEngine's high-throughput test integrated with genomics information are provided to oncologists for optimal treatment decisions tailored to each patient's cancer.

SEngine Precision Medicine, is seeking a highly motivated Cell Culture Laboratory Associate.This position will report to our Associate Director of Cancer Organoid Core to assist with processing, maintenance, expansion, and banking of primary human cancer cells, following CLIA-compliant Standard Operating Procedures. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with aseptic technique in a BSL-2 laboratory and in the establishment of 2D and/or 3D primary cell culture directly from patients' live specimens. The type of specimen includes biopsies, surgical excisions, or body fluids.

The candidate should be highly organized, have good time management skills, have attention to detail and be able to follow, memorize and troubleshoot complex SOPs. As a clinical lab, the candidate will be obliged to record every step of every procedure in detail, following our laboratory recordkeeping procedures. In addition, the candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-work attitude. The candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the generation of cancer patient derived organoids (PDO) lines and to learn how to match patient specific genomic alterations to effective supplements in their cell culture condition to recreate a proliferative cancer microenvironment ex-vivo.

Required Qualifications will include but are not limited to:

• Bachelor and/or master's degree in biology or relevant field.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience with 2D human cell culture and working in aseptic technique in BSL-2 laboratory.
• Experience with 3D cell culture is desirable.
• Attention to detail in all CLIA regulated procedures, respecting QC and QA criteria.
• Independent achiever but also capable of working in teams.
• Excellent communication: verbal and written.
• Familiarity with cell viability assays and other cell-based assays.
• Maintain a detailed laboratory and electronic records demonstrating adherence to SOPs.
• Professional working proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Desired Qualifications:

• Background in cancer biology and in particular cancer cell culture from primary specimens.
• 1 year clinical lab experience or 2 years in a research lab.
• High-throughput screening experience.
• Some experience with processing human tissue.
• Immunofluorescence staining and other cell analytical techniques, such as preparation of RNA, DNA, protein extracts from cancer cell samples.
• Organoid and/or primary cell culture experience.
