Job description

The Consumer Compliance Analyst is responsible for assisting Washington Federal's Consumer Compliance Department in ensuring that the Bank's business lines comply with Bank policies and procedures and consumer financial laws and regulations.

Primary Functions:

  • Analyzes, reviews and responds to customer complaints.
  • Reviews legal and customer facing documents, including forms, disclosures, and correspondence, to ensure compliance with consumer financial regulation.
  • Compiles information and drafts reports and memorandums summarizing findings from quality control reviews, validations, and audits to be given to Executive Management.
  • Performs testing, including gap analysis testing, to help ensure that the business lines are compliant with changes in consumer protection regulation and law.
  • Responds to compliance inquiries from business lines.
  • Reviews new Bank products and services and marketing and advertising materials for regulatory compliance.
  • Reviews vendor contracts to identify regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Reviews and assists in the development of Bank policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four year college.
  • Experience working with consumer financial regulations, preferably in a compliance or audit role.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and legal documents.
  • Knowledge of depository operations, loan originations, and loan servicing activities.

Location:

  • This position may be eligible to work remotely in Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas, Utah, and Washington.
