Overview:
Lynden Logistics (formerly Lynden International), a member of the Lynden family of companies, has roots in transportation going back more than 100 years. We are a freight forwarder who offers full service solutions of logistical services that support the entire supply chain.

Administers Human Resource activities of the Company. This is an individual contributor manager position.

Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Knowledge of state and local employment laws.

Assist with performance evaluations.

Assist with training of personnel.

Assists department managers in the handling of personnel issues.

Assist employees with employment issues.

Coordinate various projects with external resources, and executive management when necessary.

Manages employee leaves to ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws.

Recommends changes to Employee Handbook and Management Guide as needed.

Assist with and oversees recruitment and new hire processing.

Administers Fit for Work (FFW) policy and procedures (drug screening and return to work).

Collects data, develops, and updates Affirmative Action Plan.

Involved in and assists with compensation, benefits, and related company policies.

Assists in monthly payroll process.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 year's related HR experience. Human Resource certification desirable.

Experience working with iCIMS, Ceridian Dayforce, and Lynden's learning Management systems preferred, but not required.

Advanced user of MS Office products preferred.

Excellent organizational skills.

Able to work cooperatively and cohesively with others, lead and direct work.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary to effectively present information in writing and orally in one-on-one and small group situations and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or governmental regulations and write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical and unusual problems and deal with a variety of complex situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form. This position requires independent thinking and decision making.

Must be able to pass Security Threat Assessment under TSA regulations.

Ability to possess and maintain a TSA Security Threat Assessment(STA) with a status of Passed, or a TSA recognized equivalent. TSA recognized equivalents include a Secure Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge, Commercial Driver's License(CDL) with Hazmat Endorsement issued within the 50 States or District of Columbia, the Transportation Worker Identification Card(TWIC), or Free and Secure Trade(FAST) card issued by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. STA's will be submitted by Lynden Logistics upon job offer and renewed thereafter. Recognized equivalents must be current at time of application and successfully renewed by the applicant thereafter.
