Inside Sales & Estimator

• Duration : Direct Hire
• Location : SODO
• Shift : Day (8:00am-5:00pm)
• Pay : DOE

Duties and Responsibilities (Inside Sales):

• Responsible for maintaining good customer relations and communicating effectively with customer, vendors and employees in day-to-day business operations via face-to-face, telephone, email and fax
• Respond to customer requests for quotes
• Work with computer systems to enter and retrieve data to support daily sales activity
• Follow-up on inquiries and prepare sales estimates and other documents to support department and customer requirements
• Process new purchase orders
• Set-up and maintain customer files
• Perform detailed material take-offs from internal or customer supplied drawings
• Formalize detailed labor estimates for various metal operations, work center and assemblies
• Coordinate with other departments and functions (Production, Engineering, Purchasing, Shipping, Accounting etc.) to prepare cost estimates, track jobs and manage the sales process from the initial request for quote (RFQ) to the final delivery of product to the customer
• Helps process credit applications and follow-up on collections as directed
• Handle customer concerns, complaints or warranty issues effectively to help ensure that the customer is taken care of in a professional manner
• Participate in cost reduction efforts
• Help with identifying new customers, new product development and with marketing efforts as needed
• Help with inventory and scheduling or work through the shop
• Responsible for customer visits and tours of facilities as needed
• Manage sales process and project coordination
• Other duties as may be assigned

Duties and Responsibilities (Estimator):

• Provide accurate and complete estimates to support sales proposals for fabrication projects
• Conduct miscellaneous steel takeoffs from construction drawings
• Oversee commercial projects
• Provide job router to company business system (Global) for manufacturing engineering and/or purchasing department to support project activities
• Coordinates customer inspections and/or visits
• Provides all status and/or documentation required by customers or their agents
• Provides project status to customers and maintains information flow between the company and customers through good written records

Qualifications:

• 3+ years experience in an inside or outside sales position with estimating for a job shop and project type business
• Blueprint and drawing reading skills to create material take offs from customer drawings and specifications
• Ability to estimate various labor activities
• Knowledge of cost indexes for labor and materials
• Ability to construct contract language to support long term projects
• Good understanding of metal forming, cutting and welding operations
• Requires complete knowledge of metal types, grades and applications and processes related to manufacturing
• Proficiency in use of computers, computer application programs and internet use to provide written proposals and complete customer required documentation
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Must be organized and have the ability to multi-task while presenting a professional image at all times
