Job description

The Multifamily Loan Originations Analyst will assist the SVP Northwest Regional Production Manager in the promotion of Colliers Mortgage capital products. This position is a highly visible, client-facing role and plays a key part in the investment process. We are looking for highly motivated, exceptional individuals with interest in commercial real estate, mortgage originations, and outside sales. The function of this role is primarily to provide support to specifically paired, experienced senior loan originators (LOs) to learn product-specific origination knowledge.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Prospect for new borrower relationships via extensive cold calling and emailing and provide thorough data validation of prospective leads
* Complete market research, lead generation, and borrower research to assist the LOs on marketing plans using Microsoft Excel, databases, Google, Yardi Matrix, RCA, CoStar, etc.
* Maintain tracking system for refinance opportunities, provide effective database management, and run prepayment penalties
* Develop and maintain strong technical knowledge of commercial lines HUD, Fannie Mae, debt fund, life company, and conventional/bank
* Determine and evaluate appropriate capital structures for opportunities based on the understanding of the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of each property, the related competitive advantages and disadvantages it offers, and understand the projects overall operations
* Prepare, edit, and project manage loan screening submission packages/loan memos for internal and external lenders
* Work closely with LOs as needed to collaborate with underwriters and/or sales desks across various business lines to prepare loan screenings, issue quotes applications, and review due diligence
* Develop strong relationships with underwriters and external capital sources
* Other duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements

* 1-3 years of experience in finance and/or sales preferred
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
* Bachelors in Finance, Commercial Real Estate or similar
* Strong verbal and written communication skills through phone and email
* Ability to work independently as well as in a team
