The primary responsibilities of the Health Services Director are planning and directing direct all day-to-day functions of The Terraces at Skyline's, Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, and all medical/nursing contractors and service providers in accordance with applicable company, federal, state, and local standards to promote that the highest degree of quality care is provided to its residents. Also responsible for assisting the Executive Director in the operation and management of the community in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Transforming Age Board of Directors and federal/state/local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Plans, develops, organizes, implements, and evaluates the health center's programs/activities.
  • Assists with the development the health center's organizational structure and articulates the roles of department heads within that structure.
  • Interprets the health center's standards and guidelines to employees, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, etc. as required and ensures they are followed.
  • Represents the health center both internally and to the public including governmental agencies, third party payers, and the general population. Works harmoniously with the community's other department managers concerning level of care transitions and general communication as well as all other interactions that promote an efficient and effective overall community operation.
  • Assists with the development and administration of the health center's overall budget process such as accurate forecasting of expenses and cost control result. Ensures that adequate financial records and reports are prepared and submitted to administration as required.
  • Ensures that an adequate number of appropriately trained professional and auxiliary personnel are on duty at all times to meet the needs of the residents.
  • Maintains an excellent working relationship with the local medical profession and other health related organizations through formal working and transfer agreements.
  • Abides by established policies including maintaining confidentiality as appropriate.
  • Attends in-service training and department meetings.
  • Supervises and/or assists with various departments as assigned by the Executive Director
  • Ensures efficient operations and compliance with financial goals established in the approved budget.
  • Assists in the development of Operating and Capital Expenditure Budget for the community.
  • Assists in the preparation of variance analysis of Monthly Financial Statement for the community.
  • Maintains a close Liaison with residents and their organizations and communities, keeping informed at all times of their desires and requirements.
  • Represents Skyline at First Hill and Transforming Age to the community, including membership and active participation in community and professional organizations, to the extent duties at the community allow.
  • Supervises all members of the Health Care department including coordinating and approving time off, conducting performance evaluations, counseling, and directing and managing the workflow for the department. Also supervises the provision of medical/nursing services provided by any and all contractors to their residents of Skyline at First Hill.
  • Supervises any additional areas assigned by the Executive Director.
  • Promotes the Mission, Vision, and Values of Transforming Age in all areas of responsibility.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

What we're looking for from you:
  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college/university in health care/business administration or related field.
  • Washington State Nursing Home Administrators License, and Assisted Living Certificate, both active and in good standing
  • Previous successful experience in administering skilled nursing facilities, and assisted living facilities.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills utilizing the English language.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in computer operation and access to computer tools.
  • General computer software knowledge, preferably Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must demonstrate an interest in working with a senior population.
  • Must be a person of deep moral integrity with demonstrated maturity and leadership skills.
  • Must show familiarity with all areas of department operations within a senior housing community.
  • Self-starter, attentive to detail; must possess excellent organizational and proofreading skills.
  • Display strong team-working skills.
  • Demonstrate positive client-service attitude.
  • Posse good telephone communication skills.
  • Able to work on multiple tasks and able to work with interruptions.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively utilizing written/verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to speak in public to groups.
