Position: Retail Store Sales Associate - Part-Time

Reports to: Store Manager

Supervises: None

Department: Programs

Schedule: Store open on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays; aprox. 10:00-4:00pm

Payroll: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Compensation: $16.69 hour

Hours: 12-16 h/week

OVERVIEW: Ventures is a Seattle-based nonprofit that empowers aspiring entrepreneurs with limited resources and unlimited potential. We provide access to business training, capital, coaching and hands-on learning opportunities for entrepreneurs. We serve those in our community for whom traditional business development services are out of reach, with a focus on women, people of color, immigrants, and individuals with low income. Our ultimate goal is to support individuals to increase their income potential, achieve long-term financial stability, and provide for their families, and enrich their communities through small business ownership.

Ventures Marketplace retail store is a groundbreaking retail incubator in Seattle's historic Pike Place Market showcasing our client's handcrafted products. The store's mission is to provide hands-on training for our clients in retail product development, pricing and presentation while offering a venue for them to sell their craft.

As we prepare for the return of cruise ship departures this July, we are now ready to hire an additional sales associate to help us further our mission and support the retail store operations. Be a part of this happy and popular historic market while helping our clients grow their businesses.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Selling clients' products and providing outstanding customer service both on the floor and on the phone ·
• Accurately running cash register and maintaining accuracy in all required functions ·
• Working cooperatively with other staff to serve the mission of Ventures ·
• Maintaining displays and assisting in keeping the store clean and tidy

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual who demonstrates excellent customer service and sales skills, can multi-task in a busy tourist-driven location, and can appreciate the needs of our clients.

Compensation & Benefits:

• $16.69/per hour

Work Schedule

• 12-16 hours per week depending on season
• Fairly steady work schedule with the same days off every week

· Must be available to work weekends and most holidays

• Work requires availability between 10am and 5pm on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays
• Special events, a few times a year, might require working late or starting early
