Your key responsibilities
- Work on the performance and scale characterization and targeted enhancements for the next generation of MSCI cloud-based analytics solutions.
- Provides input to architectural & design decisions to improve Performance & ensure resilience, scalability, maintainability & overall operational stability of the MSCI Analytics Platform.
- Designs & develops performance test frameworks for performance engineers & software engineers to utilize as part of delivery pipeline. Establish performance baselines, guidelines & non-functional requirements for the MSCI Analytics Platform including establishment of frameworks to measure & validate Performance
- Researches & makes recommendations around new technologies & Performance related tools & techniques. Work with Internal & external teams to clearly articulate & drive resolution on performance analysis, tuning & preventing degradation of the customer experience
- Designs & executes Load, Stress, Endurance & Capacity tests, analyze & converts results into actionable improvements across development squads. Implements Performance Engineering discipline standards & best practices, and work with product squads to apply these in-sprint
- Participates in Performance & scalability focused incident & problem management activities & resolving root cause of performance related problems, through tuning, recommending configuration changes, or refactoring application software to resolve poor performance
- Reviews all system architecture changes & assesses performance, scalability & system capacity impacts. Delivers artifacts, technical alternative documents & architectural designs that meet business Performance requirements.
- Performance analysis to identify bottlenecks & design appropriate optimizations
- Collaborate with operations in finding root cause and reduce MTTR for Performance, scalability related issues
- Use tools for metrics, monitoring, and results analysis using Grafana, Azure Log Analytics, Power BI, and the Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK) stack
Your skills and experience that will help you excel
- Formal training in software engineering, technology or any quantitative field. Experience in performance engineering or related role in finance or IT industry
- Experience with CI/CD capable performance test frameworks. Advanced with micro service-based architectures & operations in a heterogeneous environment
- 3+ years of hands on experience with Kubernetes and Docker. 3+ years of hands on experience Microsoft Azure (or equivalent AWS/GCP) and Azure DevOps
- Good understanding of storage, including distributed, cloud, and software-defined storage. Good skills with Bash, Python, Terraform and the Linux command line
- Understanding SDLC, DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with software development (Java, JavaScript)
- Outstanding problem solving and communication skills. Ability and willingness to learn quickly and work well with others
- Good English language skills
