The Applied Machine Learning (AML) group at Redfin works towards redefining real estate in the customer's favor using machine learning. We work on foundational problems in the real estate space including Recommendations ("Where should I live") and Price estimation ("How much is a home worth"). We have real estate data at a national level and work across various domains in machine learning using large-scale multi-modal property data (documents, images, text, video, 3d scans etc.). AML also owns and maintains end-to-end production-grade large-scale machine learning infrastructure and systems serving hundreds of millions of consumers.
As a Machine Learning Engineer for the Applied Machine Learning Team, your job is to solve foundational problems in the real estate space using our massive store of market and user data and Machine Learning. You will work with an experienced group of machine learning engineers and researchers with robust research to production culture.
Who You Are:
- A Masters or Ph.D. in C.S., mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in building complex large-scale machine learning systems.
- You have experience with Machine Learning & Big Data technologies such as Spark, Scikit-learn, pandas etc. and deep learning frameworks such as Pytorch / TensorFlow in particular dealing with unstructured data (text, image, video, documents)
- You have experience with machine learning and deep learning deployment infrastructure (Airflow, MLflow, Kubernetes, TFX etc.)
- Proven track record of owning and driving complex cross-team technical initiatives from conceptualization to implementation to production.
- You are a hands-on coder who can lead by example and churn out robust, scalable, maintainable and well-tested code.
- You are a teacher and a mentor: you lead by example and mentor the next set of technical leaders at the company.
- You have a strong statistical knowledge and deep expertise in at least one of the following areas: Recommendation systems, Price estimation / forecasting, Machine learning platforms / infrastructure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
