Job description
Product Manager III, Media Product Management
The Expedia Group Media Solutions' (MeSo) product management team sets the vision for our growing suite of advertising products. MeSo product managers guide our many functional internal teams toward a common goal: shipping timely, high-quality, performant ad products and features oriented to sate market demand and gracefully complement our travelers' shopping experience. As custodians of a two-sided marketplace that accommodates both MeSo's B2B advertiser clientele as well as millions of travel shoppers to Expedia Group's global family of websites, the MeSo Product team builds media products at scale to serve both constituencies while remaining vigilant in our pursuit of simplicity.
The Product Manager III, Global Media Audience Extension (known internally as 'Passport Ads') is a fast-paced role responsible for enabling endemic advertisers to use our rich first-party (onsite) data to reach in-market travel shoppers as they browse the larger Internet. Positive relationships with several MeSo functional teams, including operations, sales, product, engineering, and finance, are key to ensuring operational scale on a global basis. Account managers and their advertiser clients regularly rely on this product manager's go-to-market strategies and mentorship to optimize their campaign implementations.
Central to the role's charter is enabling greater campaign relevancy, reach and results for advertisers off-platform. Passport Ads' is one of MeSo's biggest growth opportunities in our ambitious pursuit to remake, modernize and extend our Display ads platform. How will we achieve this north-star goal? It starts with a forward-thinking product futurist who can quickly assimilate Passport Ads' sophisticated ecosystem and devise winning strategies that improve pricing, analytics, and workflow efficiency. It continues by bringing your digital advertising expertise and analytical acumen to every product discussion as you steadily simplify Passport Ads' infrastructure via a series of progressive enhancements. And ultimately, you'll notch notable increases in product adoption, retention, and revenue by overcoming multiple competing priorities.
What you'll do:
- Define, develop, and execute the vision, roadmap, and requirements for Passport Ads
- Evolve the product's analytics and reporting capabilities using new privacy-centric platforms and tools in the early stages of adoption (Ads Data Hub / Big Query)
- Navigate upcoming changes to EG's tag management tools (Tag Commander, Campaign Manager)
- Partner with EG Marketing to find the long-term path to user identity matching with the major marketing technology platforms (YouTube, Facebook)
- Analyze market and product trends, incorporating real-time feedback from global sales, clients, and other internal partners
- Evaluate vendor solutions, ensuring external technology integrates seamlessly and efficiently with internal systems
- Win prioritization for required technical resources through thoughtful justification
- Regularly review developments in the data privacy regulatory environment to mitigate product risk
- Develop a command of all technology platforms (AdBook+, Google DV360, EG Audience Builder) that power Passport Ads
- Grow proficiency in programmatic buying practices and demand-side platforms
Who you are:
- 5+ years of related work experience in digital marketing, online advertising, and/or product development
- Advanced degree preferred; or Equivalent related professional experience
- Technically conversant in ad serving and programmatic advertising technology
- Impeccable verbal and written communication skills
- Strong eye for detail, with a natural tendency to dig deep and thoroughly understand an issue before recommending a solution
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; can use data to back assumptions and evaluate outcomes
- Willingness and ability to learn new technologies quickly
