The Department of Biochemistry has an outstanding opportunity for a Research Scientist/Engineer 1.

We are looking for a highly-motivated Research Scientist/Engineer 1 to join the growing and dynamic vaccine and therapeutic development team in the Veesler lab which supports the design and evaluation of countermeasures against a broad range of pathogens. The position will involve developing, optimizing and implementing ELISA and pseudotype virus entry and neutralization assays for serological evaluation of infection/vaccine-elicited antibodies as well as monoclonal antibodies (75%) and receptor discovery in a high throughput manner (25%).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

* Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry, Biology or related field; plus at least 3 months of experience in related field.
* Prior experience in working with mammalian cell-culture.
* Expertise in Virology.
* The position requires a high level of organization, working independently and being a team-player, ensuring clear communication with other members of the team and real-time reporting of data.

Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum requirements.
