DESCRIPTION

AWS is seeking a customer-obsessed, results-oriented Recruiting Manager to join our Talent Acquisition team based in Seattle, WA (location flexible).

In this leadership role, you will play a critical role in building and growing our Platform AWS business across multiple locations and partner with the business teams to design recruiting strategies at scale. You will apply your prior leadership skills to lead a growing recruiting team to achieve business hiring goals. You will act as a true talent advisor, partnering closely with both the business and other HR leaders to set and drive strategy, goals, process, and metrics while managing a client-aligned recruiting team.

Core Responsibilities:
• Drive sourcing capability & capacity across a geographically dispersed team to proactively build diverse candidate pools while leveraging all available talent channels to expedite the recruitment of bar raising Software Engineer talent.
• Work closely with Business, Engineering and HR leaders to influence and deliver a quality assessment and candidate experience through all aspects of the recruitment funnel.
• Partner with key stakeholders (Business Leaders, Hiring Managers, HR Business Partners and Recruiting Managers) to determine future talent needs and set and drive enabling sourcing strategies; this requires a deep understanding through extensive market research of the channels (both domestic US and internationally) where we can find the best, diverse talent who fit our technical and cultural demands.
• Build engage, manage and develop a team of high-performing staff in an extremely fast-paced and ambiguous environment. Currently 3 Recruiting Managers, and ~25 total team members.
• Set team performance goals and metrics, timelines and a formal tracking process to measure and manage progress.
• Develop and execute to plans to identify and drive productivity improvements that enable the team to deliver to hiring goals without having to scale deployed resources at a rate faster than the business is growing.
• Lead and/or participate in cross-business/cross-company special projects and initiatives related to talent acquisition.
This position can be based in Herndon, VA, Arlington, VA, Seattle, WA, Austin TX or any USA Amazon Corporate office.

Job responsibilities

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent post-secondary degree
• 10+ years of Recruiting and/or HR experience
• Experience with leading a recruiting team that has hired technical talent (Software Development Engineers, Technical Program Managers, Software Development Managers etc.)
• Experience managing staffing managers
• 7+ years direct people leadership experience
• Experience managing large, dispersed global recruiting/sourcing teams
• Experience working with recruiting reporting, tools and systems, including resume databases, internet sourcing tools, and spreadsheets

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience building, coaching and managing a recruiting team for 10+ years
• Organized and pragmatic; thrives in a results oriented environment
• Skilled at partnering with hiring teams to build effective sourcing, assessment, and closing approaches with an ability to manage customer/partner expectations through a deep understanding of ROI
• Experience creating, measuring and scaling workflow between Candidates, Hiring Managers and the Recruiting team
• Project/Program Management Experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• MBA or other advanced degree
