Overview:
Western National is excited to announce an opportunity to join our Claims team as a Sr. Claims Representative within the Property team! This role will allow the right candidate to work with our customers throughout the claims handling process. This position is intended to be a remote position with occasional field work. We look forward to talking with experienced claims professionals throughout the Western Region to include Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana!
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of claims experience, strong communication, time management and analytical skills.
Responsibilities:- Handle moderate to high complexity Property claims that could be both commercial and personal lines.
- Ensure customer service excellence.
- Investigate and review policy forms, facts and documents related to claims to make appropriate decisions on claims resolution.
- Establish and review proper reserves for each claim based upon thorough investigation, evaluation, and experience, maintaining appropriate reports to ensure current status of claims are clearly documented at all times.
- Provide direction to outside vendors and partners.
- Deal with moderately complex problems that must be broken down into manageable pieces.
- Utilize knowledge, experience and available resources to resolve claims.
- May participate in development of improvements and help implement change.
- Regular contact with customers (insureds, claimants, agents) as well as regular contact with employees across the organization; travel for field work as required.
- Occasional travel on short notice for field work as required
- 5+ years of handling Claims experience.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office and other systems on a daily basis.
- Understanding of industry practices, standards, and claim concepts.
- Able to multitask and solve problems.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Negotiation with individuals and attorneys.
- Good business judgment.
- Bachelor degree or equivalent related experience.
- Working toward AIC, AINS or CPCU certification is preferred.
