Position Overview:

Google Cloud Producer Platform builds and supports the engineering platforms that manage the life cycle of Products in Google Cloud. We are hiring for this position in Kirkland or Seattle, WA. This position is a contract role for an initial 6 month term, and can be extended but this will depending on performance and need.

User experience (UX) is at the forefront of how we create intuitive, innovative, and beautiful products that people love. As part of our group, you'll collaborate with your design partners to leverage and evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative, inspired products that people love to use. Our multidisciplinary UX teams include designers, researchers, content strategists, and engineers who are passionate about quality, usability, and performance. We collaborate closely with product managers, software engineers -- among others-- and our work affects people all over the world while exemplifying a core principle of Google's philosophy: "Focus on the user and all else will follow."

Skill/Experience/Education

Mandatory* Bachelor's degree in Design, Human Computer Interaction or equivalent practical experience. 1-3 years of professional related work experience.

* Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of Designers, Researchers, Engineers, and Product Managers throughout the design process; creating user flows and wireframes to building user interface mockups and prototypes.

* Work samples exhibiting complex problem-solving, user focus, and ability to launch products.

* Specialization in interaction design and product thinking, with solid visual design skills and experience playing a role in lightweight prototyping and user research.

* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

* Can prioritize time between multiple projects, and be flexible by adapting to changing schedules and different projects

* Ability to work within a highly technical environment and operate with an excellent understanding of technical requirements and limitations

* Highly motivated learner

Desired* Familiarity with B2B product

* Detail-oriented and organized, with strong visual design skills, layout, typography and high graphic standards.

responsibilities:

- Demonstrate a high level of craft in design systems thinking.

- Understand what it means to design at scale.

- Work closely with project design leads to contribute and support design needs across the UX team.

- Consistently finishes design-tasks within the scope of a larger project. These tasks will be defined and refined by a lead designer and are scoped so that a single designer could finish within a given timeframe.

- Make steady progress without constant guidance. They will be able to solve problems that would be familiar to their team, using existing resources and processes.

- Take initiative to clarify important assumptions before significant work is done.

- Their completed work is considered high quality, though he, she may need significant feedback from more senior staff.
