We are seeking an experienced Portfolio Strategy professional to join our Consulting practice and focus on developing global real estate strategy for Amazon, in partnership with the Amazon Global Real Estate & Facilities (GREF) team.

What this job involves

  • Work directly with the COMPANY Global Portfolio Strategy Lead and the client Strategy & Transactions leads to identify and execute upon global strategies to optimize location, cost and efficiency while creating value across the global real estate portfolio
  • Serve as a global liaison for the strategy team to gather and analyze inputs to drive real estate strategy (lease, cost, market data, landlord/ facility information, city data, talent information and macroeconomic trends) from a variety of COMPANY and client stakeholders and on-account systems
  • Utilize knowledge and expertise in portfolio, transaction and financial strategy to evaluate potential opportunities and lead strategy development across all of these disciplines, pulling in subject matter expertise and analyst support as necessary to develop strategic recommendations
  • Coordinate with regional COMPANY Portfolio Strategy leads to ensure regional nuances are accounted-for in all global strategy development work, and provide visibility into global projects that may impact strategy development within each region as well
  • Analyze and make recommendations with respect to strategic acquisitions, dispositions, investment and market opportunities, talent strategies, asset reviews, market studies and financial strategies, and prepare and deliver business cases and client presentations that influence the decision-making of client leadership
  • Manage analyst-level resources to accomplish objectives

Sound like you Before you apply its worth knowing what we are looking for:

  • 8-10 years of commercial real estate related experience, with an emphasis on consulting/advisory work
  • MBA or other advanced degree is highly desirable
  • Strong background and proven experience with portfolio strategy / planning and financial analysis
  • Sound understanding of how real estate supports the achievement of enterprise level goals and objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills
  • Project execution experience, leadership, staff and client management skills are required
  • Proficiency in finance and accounting concepts, as well as financial modeling are essential for success in this position
  • Intellectually curious and creative
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information
