CHAS Health offers up to 6 weeks of PTO per anniversary year for full time employees.

Loan Reimbursement Program that provides reimbursement for student loan payments up to $5,250 per year for CHAS Health employees working a minimum of 30 hours a week who have completed 90 days of employment and are in good standing. This program is for employees with qualified student loans that are not eligible for state or federal loan repayment programs.

This CHAS Health benefit provides employees the opportunity to work modified schedules, work part-time, or work from home. This structure allows employees in eligible positions more flexibility with balancing work and personal life.

Purpose of Job:

Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by efficiently and accurately processing claims.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Research and resolve claim denials for multiple payers.
* Monitor claims for non-payment or delayed payments.
* Responsible for identifying and reporting trends to expedite claims processing and reducing denial rates.
* Audit accounts for payment accuracy per contracts.
* Submit appeals to third party payers.
* Process patient and third-party payments and refunds.
* Process bad debt adjustments according to agency policy.
* Monitor claims through a clearinghouse, depending on the practice management system.
* Maintain knowledge of billing policies and procedures and payer specific billing guidelines.
* Ensures a high level of customer service by communicating with patients, coworkers, providers and third-party representatives in a professional manner.
* Perform other tasks as assigned to support the goals of the organization.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience: High school or equivalent required. Courses in medical and terminology preferred. One year of medical billing experience preferred.

Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Computer skills required. Athena or NexGen system a plus but not required.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and sit. The employee is occasionally required to move around the facility; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and /or move up to 25 lbs.
