Position Summary
The Business Development Representative is a member of our New Accounts team, reporting to the VP of Business Development. This position is responsible for identifying and converting partnerships through leveraging our world-class technology and expertise to help our partners succeed on online marketplaces.
Essential Job Functions
- Build New Partnerships - Find and develop new prospects, moving them through the full sales cycle to conversion.
- Identifies and locates new clients through a variety of methods including networking and cold calls.
- Meet productivity goals - meet or exceed KPIs to ensure optimal productivity and efficiency. KPIs include outbound & inbound lead qualification, calls, opportunities created and partners won.
- Effectively understand and represent the Kaspien value proposition and how it benefits a prospect's ecommerce strategy through professional and persuasive communication
- Creative Problem Solver - take initiative to overcome objections and adversity to find solutions that create mutually beneficial partnerships
- Prepare strategic proposals - working with internal teams such as marketing, identify brand pain points and communicate strategic solutions Kaspein provides
- Provides information, quotes, credit terms, and other bid specifications to clients.
- Negotiates prices, terms of sales, and/or service agreements; prepares contracts and submits orders.
- Collaborates with purchasing departments, managers, and other staff to confirm that orders are processed with accuracy and efficiency and that products are distributed properly
- Build honest business relationships and rapport through personable and professional phone, email and in-person communication
- Prepares and reports results, status of accounts, and leads to manager
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
Knowledge, Education, and Experience
- Demonstrated success managing sales pipeline of more than $5 million
- Prospecting and lead qualification experience
- 3+ years of experience in relationship-based sales
- SaaS or Agency sales experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience required
Required Skills
- Proven producer that takes ownership of their pipeline and drives it forward; easily able to handle objections and rejections
- Excellent sales and negotiation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly over the phone
- Organized with attention to detail
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients
- Creative mindset and resourcefulness to solve specific client issues in the marketplace
- Must be able to travel to meet with prospective partners or attend tradeshows (up to 10%)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

None. This position is an individual contributor
Work Environment
Standard office environment; currently remote through COVID-19.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Up to 10% travel to meet with clients or potential clients will be required on occasion
