Vancouver, WA - Full-Time
Our client (M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust), serves the diverse needs of the Pacific Northwest (Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington) by investing in the capacity of organizations and individuals on the front lines of the unique challenges facing individuals, families and communities. In addition to serving thousands of nonprofit and community leaders through enrichment and convening programs, the Murdock Trust has invested more than $1.2 Billion through 7,500+ grants to over 3,000 nonprofits since opening in 1975. Their mission is to enrich the social, spiritual, cultural, and educational fabric of the Pacific Northwest in innovative and sustainable ways. This position is an opportunity to be a servant leader guiding all aspects of technology for their organization (currently around 35+ individuals). This is an onsite role (company is 100% vaccinated) located in the flourishing new Vancouver Waterfront development overlooking the Columbia River.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The position is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of the IT system to allow users (approx. 35 FTE) to maximize their productivity; to provide leadership and coordination for the strategic use of technology to achieve the mission of the Trust; to lead, manage, and coordinate the collection and dissemination of all Trust information, reports, and data, both inside and outside the Trust; and to coordinate and manage the technology budget and budget planning for technology needs. The person in this position is in regular contact with people and must work well with all personality types, conveying professionalism, friendliness, warmth, and respect while providing information about Trust policies and practices.
REPORTING AND SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS:
Supervised by and reports to the Chief Financial Officer. This person will work closely with all staff and Trustees.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and/or maintain technology strategy in support of the overall mission and goals of the Trust
- Provide leadership and coordination relating to the strategic use of technology and systems
- Manage and coordinate strategic partnerships with vendors, technology service providers (e.g., managed service providers, SAAS services, et al), and other entities who provide many of the technology support services as active partners
- Responsible for procurement, installation, and life-cycle maintenance of IT hardware and software (includes PCs, peripherals, servers, networking equipment, operation system, and other software)
- Responsible for the procurement, installation of SAAS products that align with organization mission and departmental goals
- Discern and educate Trust leadership on best practices as they relate to the use of technology and systems in the work of the Trust
- Oversee technology related systems that are managed by other staff, such as telephony, communication devices, office equipment, and others as appropriate or assigned
- Project development and execution in a timely fashion
- Provide consulting/training/education services, such as data management and staff training/orientation for systems and software
- Coordinate development and testing of SAAS systems to meet Trust requirements
- Analyze products, investigate new technologies, and recommend use of new products/services; subsequently responsible for their acquisition and integration
- Develop and manage annual budgets for information technology and systems
- Develop technology implementation plans that include analysis, such as cost-benefit or return on investment (ROI)
- Work with program team to review technical grant requests, as needed
- Stay up-to-date on technical knowledge and skills by attending courses, reading, and accessing new applications

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT:
- This is an in-office position with some remote work required.
- Work requires ability to lift 20-30 pounds on an occasional basis. Work may require moderate physical exertion, physical strain and/or bending/crawling

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field desired, required, advanced professional development demonstrated, and minimum of 5-7 years related experience or progressive responsibility in current position
- Professional organizations relevant to the field and the position
- Knowledge of current trends in the field and participation in continuing education
