Job description

CorTech Staffing is seeking Lab Tech's for a local Beloit, WI company.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
The Sensory Temp will be responsible for helping set up and execute of all types of sensory tests. This experience will expose the temp to a wide range of sensory methods that are available to assist the RD&A Scientist in making great tasting products. Other activities include learning EyeQuestion software to generate ballots, taking focus group notes, conducting ongoing screening and training for new hires, preparing materials for both the trained Descriptive panel as well as for TaStation testing. Day to day activities include coding cups for all projects, assisting with lab maintenance, preparing and portioning samples, sanitizing the kitchens, preparing and serving samples, etc.

The temp will assist the scientists with panel set-up, test execution and other duties which may be specific to the test being conducted. Over time, the temp will take on more and more of the responsibilities until they can independently set up and run a project on their own with guidance (e.g., TaStation, DA panel prep, Culinary project, etc.).

Qualifications:
•Associate degree or BS (plus) with a science background (e.g., medical field or related field).
•Must be computer savvy with ability to create and modify Microsoft Word documents, Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations.
•Must follow direction and work independently.
•Familiar with Food Handling, Safety and Sanitation practices and not afraid to prepare baked, fried or grilled products.
•Ability to work on multiple projects at one time, follow instructions, flexible and detail oriented.
•Must be willing to taste and smell chemicals, flavors and food products
•Must be able to stand for long periods of time in a laboratory setting and lift 50 pounds
•Must be self-directed with ability to ask questions, investigate, and follow-up
