Job description

Responsible for building electrical panels, field wiring and pneumatic plumbing components to print. Follows processes as specified in company policies/instructions. Meets schedule and quality standards. Maintains tooling and equipment expertise. Continuous self-improvement. Troubleshoots and resolves problems. Travels 20% for service and installations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Reads and interprets complex blueprints, electrical and pneumatic schematic, or engineering instructions to build electronic components, panels, subassemblies, and wiring.
* Completes electronic builds using appropriate hardware, soldering and hand and/or power tools.
* Assists in systems integration, PLC, robot, and HMI configurations.
* Assists in troubleshooting automation manufacturing control systems consisting of PLCs, industrial networks, robots, machine vision and HMI interfaces.
* Performs I/O checks, sets, and documents sensors, performs sensor and message challenge testing.
* Responsible for change control documentation including marking electrical and pneumatic schematic packages with as built updates and changes.
* Stays current in new developments within industries served. Keeps informed of new applications/methods to improve systems/products.
* Observes all safety rules, applicable regulations, and relevant ISO standards.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

Education and Experience/Skills Required:
* High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical degree or additional college coursework related to design and electrical principles preferred.
* Three to five years of high skilled experience in electrical build and system integration/function strongly preferred.
* Knowledge of automated systems utilizing VFDs, servo motion, pneumatic actuators and standard digital inputs required.
* Demonstrated ability to read electrical and pneumatic schematics.
* Proven aptitude with computers, voltmeter and learning new systems.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently with a high degree of attention to detail.
* Proven experience working effectively in a team environment.
* Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and to make metric system conversions.
* Must have the ability to read and understand blueprints, specification manuals, assembly plans, and other manufacturing instructions.
* Requires excellent oral and written communication skills in order to interact with employees effectively.
* Working knowledge of all MS Office applications.
* Physical Demands Required : While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be required to sit/stand/kneel, use hands to fingers, tools, and controls. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move drawings, files, parts, and systems weighing up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
