Job description

The Senior Human Resources Generalist manages the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource office and the administration of the HR policies, procedures, and programs with a focus on talent acquisition. The Senior Human Resources Generalist will support all employees in the areas of performance management, recruitment, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation and retention.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Confers with management, supervisors and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies.

  • Reviews applications, interviews, screens, and recruits job applicants to fill professional and technical job openings to match experience with specific job-related requirements.

  • Acts as liaison with employment and temporary staffing agencies.

  • Coordinates onboarding schedule with the hiring forecast.

  • Ensures ongoing performance management communications between managers and employees throughout the year and assisting in projects to do so.

  • Conducts exit interviews for terminating employees and completion of unemployment claims

  • Conducts and supports all aspects of employee relations including investigations, documentation and problem-solving.

  • Performs analysis and interprets data and information to draw conclusions and recommendations that will assist in developing HR programs.

  • Provides managers with advice and recommendations for actions in people-related decision-making.

  • Supports department by contributing to ongoing process improvements:

  • Prepares and distributes training aids such as instructional material, handouts, evaluation forms, and visual aids; makes presentations when necessary. Assists with preparing and administering various training programs.

  • Performs other assigned duties as needed by management.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a self-directed team player and have computer proficiency (i.e. Windows-based applications, MS Office, Internet, etc.)

  • Must have an in-depth knowledge of State and Federal benefit laws and regulations

  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills with ability to explain HR policies and procedures

  • Ability to work independently and perform detailed work while exercising analytical, independent judgment and discretion

  • Ability to achieve results under tight deadlines

  • Ability to manage through conflict while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related degree or equivalent experience preferred

  • 3-5 years in experience in Human Resources, including technical recruiting
