The Actuarial Consultant is a key leader of the Actuarial Strategy, Pricing, and Operations team who creates, maintains and innovates tools and processes that allow regional pricing teams to complete small group ACA rate filings in a timely, consistent, and compliant manner; provides and facilitates necessary trainings to the pricing teams; serves as a liaison in cross-functional workgroups advocating on behalf of the pricing teams; ensures that all national actuarial tools and studies are released on schedule and are of high quality via a robust subject matter expert program; and serves as an operational facilitator and program manager for various initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Analyze federal ACA rate setting and rate filing requirements and implement solutions to ensure tools and guidance are consistent, in compliance with Federal rate filing requirements, and meet evolving end user needs
- Create advocacy positions on proposed regulations related to ACA rate setting and rate filings
- Represent Actuarial Pricing needs and priorities in cross-functional workgroups
- Ensure pricing teams receive high-quality and relevant trainings
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures, job aids, and other documentation to ensure Actuarial Pricing is compliant with all applicable regulations and enterprise risk management processes
- Lead department-wide Subject Matter Expert assignment and rotation process
- Ad-hoc project management for department-wide initiatives
- Participate in the development and rollout of UnitedHealth Group's next-generation rating platform
- Manage complex work that is hands-on, project-oriented, and self-directed

Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of commercial group pricing experience
- 2+ years of ACA rate filing experience
- Intermediate to advanced experience in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Bachelor's degree
- Proficiency in VBA
- Project management experience, from solution design through implementation
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to present ideas and concepts effectively

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only : The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut and/or Nevada residents is $94,500 to $171,700.
