Job description

Sirius Staffing is seeking a QC Technician Level I for a position in Janesville, WI. This is a long-term contract position, working at a Chemical Plant.

Work schedule: 12-hour rotating shift (3 on 2 off, 2 on 3 off) off every other weekend

Job Summary :
This position is Provide basic laboratory test analyses, inventory lab supplies, verify functionality of laboratory equipment, prepare laboratory solutions, perform activities to complete laboratory processes and perform laboratory-related SAP transactions.

Education/Experience/Skills :

• High School G raduate (or equivalent) and C hemical In dustry experience minimum
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience
• B achelor's degree in Physical Science desired, chemistry preferred.
• Related Experience: Background in analytical chemistry preferred
• Special Training or Competence: Instrumentation Preferred (e.g., GC, HPLC, GC/MS, AA, IR) , ISO 9001, RC14001, cGMP
• Must be Computer literate (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Office)

Job Requirements:

Essential Functions

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform Quality Control Tests on all raw material, in- process, and finished samples brought to the lab per SOP's and sample testing plans. Complete associated paperwork.
• Provide minimal guidance to Operations on corrections to batches to meet specification.
• Inventory laboratory supplies for all materials necessary to perform QC tests.
• Complete all data entry requirements necessary to maintain process integrity, including SAP.
• Verify functionality of laboratory equipment.
• Perform tests and other rudimentary requirements as defined by the Manager-Quality Services
• Proper storage, inspection and management of Hazardous and Universal Waste following Site procedures and RCRA regulations .
• Demonstrate ability to run laboratory alone.

Working Conditions/Physical Effort

• Physical mobility and agility required.
• Requires working in a shift environment including weekends and holidays.
• Requires adequate physical strength to perform the essential job tasks (for example, ability to lift 25 lbs. without mechanical assistance).
• Exposure to prolonged physical activity (for example, twelve-hour shifts).
• Sensory faculties needed to safely perform the job duties that allow a person to react to potential or immediate hazardous conditions and to take appropriate action.
• Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as, but not limited to, safety shoes, eye protection, hand protection, hearing protection, hard hats, etc.
