Job description

Summary of Major Responsibilities:
The Senior Laboratory Support Services (Sr. LSS) Specialist will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on order exception handling tasks. This position will collaborate with team leadership, help support team projects and initiatives, and regularly collaborate cross-functionally to support the LSS function.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as a process SME to internal department team members on internal processes and source documents.

Perform all team essential duties proficiently; including resolution of test order exception issues, handling queues in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, and troubleshooting patient data.

Utilize feedback from internal team members to develop and improve team processes and workflows.

Create and update supporting documentation and materials in Team Wiki and other source documents.

In collaboration with leadership, support management of workflows and team resource allocation.

Support the internal team training program and mentor program.

Attend and co-facilitate associated meetings with internal departments.

Utilize Microsoft Office and EMR reporting tools to support team initiatives and leadership requests.

Participate in cross-department project initiatives, as needed.

Perform all duties and document all information according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and workflows.

Ability to support work queue turnaround time requirements.

Ability to actively contribute in the process improvement process.

Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.

Ability to grasp with both hands; pinch with thumb and forefinger; turn with hand/arm; reach above shoulder height.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

2+ years of experience in a contact center, data entry, or customer service environment.

2+ years of experience in multiple computer systems; including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Epic, and Onbase.

1+ years of experience working in a medical data entry environment utilizing EMR systems.

Proven ability to solve complex problems related to overall workflow processes.

Working knowledge of HIPAA Laws.

Working knowledge of medical terminology, medical billing, and insurance terms.

Working knowledge of laboratory terminology.

Proficient in Adobe Acrobat; with a demonstrated ability to navigate multiple systems within order workflow and manipulate files into PDF.

Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with project-based work.

Peer mentorship experience.

Experience supporting multiple work streams concurrently.

Process documentation experience with Microsoft Visio or similar programs.
