Job description

Their systems, processes, and team of experts are committed to quality and innovation as they continuously improve and strive to create the technology of tomorrow. They are looking for a dynamic individual to join their Quality team as a Quality Engineer focusing on continuous improvement.

This position will be responsible for customer satisfaction including ongoing customer communications including timely responses and follow-up to customer concerns, internal/external failures, and financial performance. Facilitates continual improvement activities and trains CI tool usage. Administers all Quality Management System (IAFT-16949 and ISO-9001) requirements.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Facilitates continual improvements (CI) in production.
  • Facilitates various people and teams in the reduction of internal and external failures (including internal scrap, rework, labor, redundant inspections, and customer escapes).
  • Utilizes and teaches Lean Six Sigma (DMAIC), DOE, SPC, 8D, and mistake-proofing techniques to problem-solve and identify optimal solutions to difficult problems.
  • Tracks/analyzes internal and external failure data and communicates information to necessary stakeholders.
  • Coordinate activities relative to customer complaints, including customer interface, immediate response actions, root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions, and follow-up.
  • Perform APQP activities for new product launches and product/process changes, including the proper implementation of customer-specific requirements. Review and approve PPAP submissions to customers. Assist production with PPAP builds to ensure all customer requirements are met.
  • Conduct internal Quality Audits and external Supplier Audits, reporting findings and following up/ assisting on corrective actions.
  • Key team member in the development and maintenance of Control Plan, PFLOW, and PFMEA.
  • Accountable for gauge capability, calibration, and statistical methods.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 3 years of Continuous Improvement or Lean Engineering experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Six Sigma experience
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification
  • Uses KPI's to create reliable and sustainable improvements, drives standard work, focuses on process
  • Initiative and persistence, with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment but comfortable dealing with pushback in a diplomatic manner
  • Strong understanding of continuous improvement tools and methodologies
  • Ability to conduct training and get results through mentoring others
  • Technology savvy
  • Established analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong continuous improvement mindset to drive and identify improvement plans
