Fincantieri Marine Group currently has an opportunity for a Senior Engineering PLM Business Analyst at the Marinette, Wisconsin location.


POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Engineering and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Business Analyst acts as a liaison between the users across the FMG organization and the IT department enhancing the solution platform to meet the needs and goals of the business. This role supports the business by analyzing business needs, solidifying requirements, troubleshooting of issues, training focal points users, managing projects and defining solutions. Additionally, as a member of the IT Applications Team, you will provide functional and technical support to Business Users to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. Team members are expected to become the experts for their applications and have strong knowledge of business processes supported by the Team.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Acts as a business guide for Engineering, Configuration Management, and PLM processes throughout the concept, design, realization, and support SAP project stages.
  • Collaborates with business stakeholders, Shipbuilding Systems Manager, and other IT resources to propose unified and effective solutions.
  • Evaluates with key stakeholders business processes and needs to increase efficiency, productivity, and functionality and translates these requirements into specifications for developers.
  • Assists developers in unit testing deliverables and facilitates the user acceptance testing (UAT) with business partners in order to ensure quality and functionality.
  • Defines and manages project elements, including scope, schedule, cost, and deliverables, in collaboration with business stakeholders.
  • Interfaces and communicates with program/project teams, management and stakeholders on a regular basis regarding project expectations and performance.
  • Effectively communicates project expectations and performances to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Manages IT project and program risks, issues, and scope changes using defined program governance processes and tools.
  • Works with other IT personnel to troubleshoot any problems with SAP programs to craft incident solutions and root cause resolutions.
  • Creates, reviews and delivers end-user documentation (user guide, process flow charts, training materials) and training
  • Abides by and enforces all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Works well within a small, collaborative team environment which encourages participation in all facets of solution design and delivery.



QUALIFICATIONS

  • Expertise across the processes areas of Engineering and Configuration Management as they relate to design, maintain, and change.
  • Knowledge of the mandates in force for Engineering, with both commercial and military customers.
  • Understanding of industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with Project Management Methodology.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires Bachelor's Degree or higher; or related experience and/or Training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years relevant experience (combined business and technical).
  • 5+ years combined ERP and/or Shipbuilding Systems experience.
  • Experience working for a defense contractor preferred.
  • Ability to traverse Engineering design and change documentation and processes.
  • Ability to document functional and technical specifications.


SKILLS:

Essential

  • In-depth knowledge of Engineering and PLM.
  • Experience in SAP or other ERP systems in Engineering and PLM modules.
  • Experience with Shipbuilding Systems (such as ShipConstructor, Windchill, AutoCad, Teamcenter).
  • Driven to continuously learn new practices, processes, methodologies, and technologies.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to document functional and technical specifications.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Effective written, verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
