Staff Technician: Analytical Laboratory

Reporting to: Manager - Analytical Laboratory, Americas

Job Dimensions

• Work within established safety guidelines
• Support Quality Management System
• Provide suggestions for process and safety improvements
• Provide input on work flow process and documentation for the Analytical Laboratory

Activities

• Perform laboratory duties including analysis using spectroscopic, thermal, chromatographic and rheological techniques
• Perform support functions for the Analytical Laboratory such as chemical preparation, glassware maintenance, document filing, etc.
• Manage Analytical projects with guidance and provide thorough written documentation and summary reports
• Assist with maintenance of analytical instrumentation as needed
• Present data to internal and external customers

Context and Environment

This position requires an associate who has the ability to work independently and function as a member of a high-performing team. Work involves managing time between longer-term projects and unpredictable immediate crises. It requires a natural curiosity with the ability to keep clear and concise records and communication with multiple functions. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years in a laboratory setting with adhesive and/or formulation experience.

Purpose

To provide specialized testing capabilities for Bostik Americas. This involves managing analytical projects and documenting results. This position involves working in a safe manner and assuring that data is repeatable and technically sound.

Qualifications / Experience Required

• Associate's degree in Chemical Technology or related science
• Laboratory Experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Background in fundamental statistical techniques
• Ability to function independently and as a member of a high performing team
