Accounting Clerk Description & Duties:

The Accounting Clerk will provide accounting support to the accounting department, maintain accounts payable, and assist in month end closing and preparation of financial statements, bank reconciliations, General ledger journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and support Accounts Receivable.


Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist manager with daily accounting duties, cash receipts journal entries.
  • Monthly bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Enter invoices into accounts payable, vendor setups, check disbursement.
  • Maintain and update monthly fixed assets software.
  • Assist with payment processing and process overpayments.
  • Year End audit support.
  • Other duties as assigned by management. Must be able to come to work promptly and regularly. Must be able to take direction and work well with others. Must be able to work under the stress of deadlines. Must be able to concentrate and perform accurately. Must be able to react to change productively.

Applicants must be reliable, dynamic, sociable and enthusiastic team players; while possessing a positive "can-do" attitude, excellent judgement and communication skills. Applicants must also have great attention to detail and ability to multi-task under the stress of deadlines with a strong desire to help the organization succeed.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 years Accounting/ Finance degree, 1 or 2 years accounting experience.
  • Strong typing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Professional phone presence and excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Working Conditions:

Office environment with significant time spent sitting, typing and talking on the telephone.
