Quality Technician II

Job description

* Performs laboratory tests, develop test plans, and summarize test data for engineering reports.
* This position will be working in the Crankcase Ventilation (CV) Laboratory supporting daily testing per test request for product development (PPT), and DVP&R for VPI program.
* This position will provide support on the crankcase ventilation stands and other non-standard testing associated with CV testing.
* Looking for an individual that is a self-starter, process ordinated, very organized, able to multi-task with the capability to manage test load independently.
* This position will require strong communication skills to interact with the engineering group and a working knowledge with Microsoft office programs is preferred.
* Demonstrate an understanding of the functioning of test equipment used to perform tests and the contribution of the test equipment to the validity of test results.
* Understand the functioning of the product under test to assess the contribution of the product to the validity of the test results.
* Evaluate test results and generate test reports that meet the needs of the customer including graphical representation of data and historical evaluation and interpretation of test results.
* Support the development of test procedures and calibration plans.
* Capable of test stand installation, troubleshooting, setup/teardown and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
* Perform non-standard tests associated with CV products.
* Support other lab areas as needed.
* Performs laboratory testing and plays an active role in the calibration, upkeep and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
* Performs testing in accordance with established test procedures and methodology
* Consistently provides accurate and reliable test results
* Demonstrates an understanding of the functioning of test equipment used to perform tests and the contribution of the test equipment to the validity of the test results
* Evaluates test results and generates test reports that meets the needs of the customer, including graphical representation of data and historical evaluation and assessment of test results
* Supports ISO17025/ TS16949 / ISO14001 initiatives by following standard work practices /instructions
* Performs routine calibrations
* Supports various customers

Requirements

* Minimum of High School Diploma is required.
* Please note that this manager would prefer to see candidates with a completed Associates Degree.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office - particularly MS Excel.
* Hire will also be using Word and PowerPoint on occasion.
* Mechanical Aptitude - manager is seeking someone whom is good with their hands and proficient using hand tools.
